Here’s one of a few songs on Youtube by the Seekers, a short version from their 1968 farewell concert in London. Thoughtful song writing and presentation, it is one of my favorites.
Any fans of this Australian group?
Mike

My guilty pleasure that I could never acknowledge openly until...now, basically. I furtively bought an old LP at Goodwill once and have been waiting for the Online Hip Police to out me for the Seekers' iTunes I daringly bought. So square, so tremendous at the same time. Now I don't care. Great is Great and The Seekers were beyond Great. (But give me more "..Another You" than Coke jingles.)

Absolutely one of my all time groups.
Thought they were part of the 'English Invasion' for some time, until I woke up one day and found out they were Aussies. (No matter).
Missing, tho, in the 2 YouTubes I saw (World Of Our Own) & (Another You) - that great 12-string acoustic lead guitar. That was sorely missing in the YouTubes.
But what a group. Huh? Stand-up bass. Beautiful lyrics and melodies; harmonies to die for. Sure took me away.
They did perform, as far as I can recall, just last year on one of those folk/oldies PBS promo shows. And it looked as if all the original members were front and center, especially the lovely female lead singer.
That music is alive and real and unpretentious.
What more can you ask for?
They were and are the very best. Wish they were still doing it.(but everything can not go on forever - tragically, we are all coming to realize this. Damn!

I will also post in the “Gone Home” section. This was an old post that I found. Yes, she had a very distinctive voice that was absolutely great. Yes, the world is in a slightly dimmed light with her passing.
