10 String Diatonic Tuning

Post by Allan Revich »

I came across this tuning today on YouTube. I’m not sure who the player is…

It’s a diatonic tuning for ten strings, based on Jerry Byrd’s famous 7 string tuning.
Low to High – C♯ E F G A B C D E F

Here’s one example; https://youtu.be/Ck280eADSbE

Kind of neat, including all 7 diatonic tones plus a bonus semi-tone!

Thats unique. I so bad want to try stuff like this but my brain really and I do mean really struggles to visualize grips beyond 6 and sometimes 7 strings. Anything over 7 really slows me down but I love this concept.
