Identification help

Post by Joe Evans »

Hey folks. I was wondering if there was anyone who could identify what kind of steel this is? It’s for sale locally and tempts me a bit. Seller doesn’t know. He only says it needs tuning of the pedals. Whatever that means.

Any help would be appreciated.

It is some ones dream of a pedal steel guitar.
The first thing that catches my eye, Looks like the key heads are reversed or on wrong side. Tuner steps backwards.
Flat end plates, With legs put on with screws? Wood grain underneath looks like pine .
It has a Sho-Bud fret board, Sho-Bud clips on the pull rods.
Not worth the price.

Dunno. Looks like maybe a one off garage built construction parts guitar with some parts off branded guitars. From what I can see, it's probably a pull/release changer of some design.

Appears to be well constructed. Bobby may be right about the tuner heads. Probably pretty easily reversed when a new string change.

$500 doesn't buy much in pedal steel guitars these days, if it plays, tunes etc. hard to find anything else at that price.

If it were close to me where I could examine it closer, I'd probably buy to tinker with. Maybe add another KL or 2.
