ToneXone mini pedal

Post by Billy Murdoch »

Has anyone had success with this pedal?
I found it extremely awkward and frustrating to set up and eventually gave it F.O.C. to a friend who tried it for a while and is now ready to bin it.
Best regards

I use it exclusively. However you need Joe Rogers amp samples, an Airstep TX to choose patches and a sonicake DI with Joe's speaker IR's in order to get a good sound for steel. On its own, some of the stock Tonex patches are OK but are not made for the steel. Without the Airstep you are limited to 2 patches (or is it 3?) I am on an ampless stage and my rig as described is the first I've had that actually sounds like a steel in my in ear monitors

I have had success with the TONEX One (the mini pedal). I have it clipped to the right leg of my steel. I can comfortably access 4 presets. I also use Joe's models, though I use his cabs in the TONEX amplifier. The TONEX One can go directly to the board if needed.

Many thanks for Your replies Gents.
My friend has persevered with the pedal and has managed (with difficulty) to sucsessfully get things going. He has a few of Joe Rogers captures and speaks very highly of the Dobro effect.
