Batman Takes Big E's Pac-A-Seat

Post by Chris Templeton »

I went to and Everly Brothers show Buddy was on, in Hyannis, Mass. at the Cape Cold Melody Tent, in the early 90's.. After soundcheck, we went out and had a creamy When we came back, the roadies had taken the Batman promo cut out and parked it on his seat. The Batman movie was popular at the time. He played the batman lick on shows sometimes.

Too Funny !!! My Wife and I attended that show, along with our bass player and his wife. They were not only amazed at E's mastery of the steel, but how he fit it into the Everly's repertoire.

That was the only time I saw Buddy live, out side of a package show back in the 60s. Buddy was onstage with, I think, Dave Dudley. I was probably around eight or nine at the time.

Yes, Buddy really complemented the Everly's music. He was big pals with Don since they were in their teens..
Harry, do you remember if they asked Buddy to play a solo number, and if so, do you remember what it was? Albert Lee was in the group toe, If I remember right.

I remember at one of the ISGC shows, Buddy and some friends were enjoying each other’s company after hours. Buddy was buying drinks for the gathering. Someone finally told Buddy to let someone else buy some of the drinks. Buddy’s reply, “don’t worry, I’ve got Don’s credit card!”
