seeking wiring instructions

Post by ebb »

I have a three way switch which is second from the top under Switches at this web site
http://www.warmoth.com/frames6.htm
It has two rows of three teminals (6).
I want to wire this for two pickups so that the middle position selects both pickups and the side positions select the respective single pickups. Can anyone help with a wiring diagram?
Thanks
ed

Hey Ed--that ought to be P.U.#1 {+ & -} in two end terms., P.U.#2 {+ & -} in the other two end terms. and the two center terminals to the output.
(this is the on-on-on switch on the website)

See if this helps:

<font face="monospace" size="3"><pre>
Pickup 2--| |
|-|--Output
| |--Pickup 1</pre></font>

Pickup 1 goes to the bottom right hand terminal. Pickup 2 goes to top left hand terminal. The output is wired to both middle terminals. Relative to this position, when the switch is up, pickup 1 is active, when down, pickup 2 is active, and in the middle, both are active.

Please clarify Jim's diagram for me. The hot wire (white) for the one pickup goes on the outside bottom row while the white wire for the other pickup goes on the opposite outside side top row. The white wire from the output jack goes into both the top and bottom center terminals ??? or just one of them ?. The black wires are grounded together ??? If so where ? Thanks again.

Yep, the output wire goes to BOTH center terminals. The black (ground) wires should all be grounded to the body. The logical spot is the ground terminal of your output jack.
